The project, designed by Beijing Wanda, features a horizontal composition that seamlessly integrates the different buildings and spaces within the complex. This design approach not only creates a smooth and coherent architectural style but also perfectly showcases the characteristics of football.
One of the standout features of the Dalian Youth Football Training Base is the indoor training hall, which boasts a simple yet magnificent roof. This roof design not only adds to the overall aesthetic appeal of the complex but also coordinates the planning of the entire building complex.
Alongside the urban road, utility buildings are strategically arranged to cater to the needs of sports clubs. This integration of different functional masses allows the linear architecture to act as an organic part of the complex, enhancing its overall functionality and usability.
The materials and details of the design are carefully chosen to create a vibrant and bright atmosphere while also ensuring warmth and comfort. The facade of the first floor is made of stone, while the upper part of the building is clad in pale stone-like finishes. The roof is covered with gray horizontal metal sheets. The combination of materials like stone, glass, and wood-like aluminum panels adds to the visual appeal of the complex.
The Dalian Youth Football Training Base covers an area of 86,500 square meters and is located in the New Sports City district of Dalian. The project was completed between December 2018 and December 2019, contributing to the development of Dalian football and public sports activities.
Beijing Wanda, along with the design team consisting of Ye Yufeng, Huang Dawei, Sun Jianing, Chao Zhipeng, and Wang Xuejiao, successfully overcame the challenge of creating an architecture that conforms to the style of the Sports Center and the site location while showcasing the unique features of a football court.
The Dalian Youth Football Training Base was recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2020. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial requirements.
